Have a Blast with These DIY Star Wars Crafts

Do you know some special Star Wars fans? Maybe you're getting ready for a Star Wars Party? Or just want some simple and frugal ways to help your kids enjoy screen-free time? Perhaps you'd really like to boost your May The 4th Be With You Day celebration?

Well, these Star Wars toilet paper roll figures are terrific for all of those reasons and more.

My boys and I have had so much fun with these easy Star Wars Toilet Paper Roll Figures. Even if you are not a craft-loving mama, you CAN make these figures with your kids. Don't believe me? Here are the simple steps:

1. Subscribe to Rock Your Homeschool. (Scroll down to learn more and get subscribed!)
2. Download and print your free printable Star Wars Toilet Paper Rolls Figures.
3. Gather as many empty TP rolls as you can! (18 to be exact)
4. Cut figures to size of TP roll.
5. Use glue stick to adhere.
6. BOOM!  Super cool and easy Star Wars fun!

Fun Ways to Use these Star Wars Toilet Paper Roll Figures

If your kids love Star Wars (or just think it would be fun to use these Star Wars figures for learning), here are a few ideas to get you started.

• Allow your child to select one Star Wars figure to be a learning buddy. As long as their buddy is not a distraction, their learning pal can sit by them as they work on reading, math-really, any subject! (My younger boys love having at least one learning buddy a day!)

• Encourage your kids to play with these figures. Let them talk through plans and scenes. As they play and talk, you can jot it down or record their stories. When they're done their playtime, they can take out some paper and write or draw what developed. They can even copy phrases or sentences that you wrote.

• Create a Star Wars Diorama. Decorate the inside of a shoebox or medium-sized box with Star Wars backgrounds. Arrange the figures and glue or tape them into place. Make a peephole and enjoy the scene! Your kids could narrate stories to the viewer.

• Use as story props. These Star Wars Toilet Paper Roll Figures could represent the actual characters or, for even more fun, represent characters in a Shakespeare play or popular children's book. I'm thinking Nursery Rhymes with Darth Vader would be out of this world! You can also use the smaller sized free printable Star Wars coloring activities for this purpose.

• Another great idea is to simply cut out the Star Wars characters and glue onto wood craft sticks. My boys love to do this type of activity for creative story props and playtime.

Storage and Accessories for Your Star Wars Toilet Paper Roll Figures

Convert a cardboard box into the ultimate Star Wars Figures carrier! If you have those cardboard dividers for bottles, you can use to separate the figures.

Otherwise, you could let them all hang out together in a bag or other type of box.

Bear had this awesome idea of using an empty egg carton and using it to transport his figures. He is in the process of transforming it into an X-wing fighter.

Get creative with making Star Wars ships!

Use empty containers of oatmeal and cleaning wipes. Empty tissue boxes can be transformed into stellar ships! Make an invisible ship with those clear plastic berry or vegetable containers. (Bear says that will probably be the next stage for Star Wars ship development. Freak out your enemy in a stealth attack!)
