A word scramble might not sound like much fun for all kids. No worries! You can use any or all of these creative ideas for bolstering the fun of this printable activity:

• Use Valentine’s Day-themed writing utensils. Or let your kids go crazy and use a writing utensil that they beg to use but aren’t usually allowed (like a pen or marker).
• Bump up the challenge by setting a timer. This idea works best for older kids.
• Got younger kids who want to join the fun? Pair up your young learners with older kids. Young learners benefit from experiencing the thought process of solving the word scramble. Older kids benefit from practicing patience and explaining how they arrived at the solution.
• Encourage kids to use the back of the paper to doodle what each Valentine’s Day word means to them. Or create a holiday-themed picture.
