Creative Way to Make Your Holidays Shine

Got fans of the Nightmare Before Christmas movie? This frugal and easy-to-make craft featuring Jack Skellington is sure to be a hit!

In our home, there's a serious debate about the best holiday. Two of my boys pick Halloween because they love dressing up in costumes and all the spooky stuff. My other boys choose Christmas for a number of reasons - one of which is decorating.

My oldest is a natural born leader and organizer. And one of his favorite things to do is coordinate planning and preparing for holiday decorating with his brothers.

Around mid-October, he takes inventory of our holiday decorations and makes note of what needs replaced and what to add. Last year, he was thrown for a loop when one of his younger brothers started to protest, "It's not even Halloween yet! Can't we just enjoy our favorite holiday before you take over?".

After a bit of back and forth, the boys arrived at a compromise. Each boy would make this DIY Jack Skellington ornament (and add their names) to combine Halloween and Christmas. They could use their ornaments for both holidays!

If you prefer to add a few more DIY steps to your ornament, you can use glow-in-the-dark paint on regular ping pong balls or clear plastic ornaments. Using the ornament is a nice option if you'd rather not use a hot glue gun.
