Have you joined the daily doodling fun? Doodle prompts are a great way to easily add fun to your homeschool day. These July doddle prompts help motivate and inspire kids to get creative and use their imaginations.
Why Doodling Helps Kids
What do I mean by doodling? Remember when you were little (or maybe even an adult!) and you drew random shapes and pictures on paper? You know, while you were listening to a teacher talk or just bored and looking for something fun to do. That’s doodling!
Doodling is a fantastic activity for kids. The physical action of picking up a drawing utensil, putting it to paper, and letting your imagination go builds fine motor skills and exercises the creative part of your mind. Doodling can help kids relax and learn to let go.
But, some kids get the deer in headlights feeling when you put a piece of paper and pencil in front of them. You may hear whines of, “But, I don’t know what to draw!” or “I can’t think of anything to doodle!”.
That’s where daily doodle prompts come in;)
Free July Doodle Prompts for Easy Fun with Kids
Daily doodle prompts give your kids that bit of a boost they need to get them going. A doodle prompt is merely a word based on a fun day for that month. That one word can be just what it takes to get your kids doodling and having learning fun.
If that one word isn’t enough, I suggest looking at pictures of the object in magazines, books, or on the internet. Sometimes, a child needs a visual to copy or trace. And that’s okay! The point is to get your kids moving their pencil or other drawing utensil across the paper.
