Creative Color Scavenger Hunt Fun for Kids
I love finding and creating activities to help my kids pause and observe the world around us. We’ve enjoyed Rainbow Poetry Fun and Holiday Observation Skills. Now, we’re adding this printable Color Scavenger Hunt page to our arsenal of cool ways to check out our surroundings!
Here are a few ideas that I have for creatively using this free Color Scavenger Hunt printable with my boys. I’d love to read your suggestions in the comments area below this post 🙂
1. Travel Fun Challenge Looking For Colors
When you’re on the road for a trip or in the car for errands, your kids can keep busy (and not nagging each other or you) with a Color Scavenger Hunt. Look out the windows or even in your vehicle to find the colors.
We often homeschool on-the-go and this color scavenger hunt has been an excellent and easy activity to include on our learning fun adventures.
2. Art Museum Color Hunt
Bring this free Color Scavenger Hunt printable to an art museum (or virtual art museum tour)! This activity is fabulous for helping kids to take a closer look at the artwork, paying attention to details and more.
3. Backyard Color Scavenger Hunt Fun
Encourage your kids to search for these colors in your backyard, park, or during a nature walk.
Simply add a color scavenger hunt printable to a clipboard or place in a binder. Use one of our suggested scavenger hunt tools to mark your findings!
4. Indoor Fun with Color Scavenger Hunt Printable
If your kids are whining with stuff like “I’m bored!” and “I have absolutely nothing to do!”, give them this fun color search activity.
Your kids can go on a general hunt for colors OR you can print out extra copies, cut out colors, and hide around the house.
5. Use This Color Scavenger Hunt for Online Fun
If you’d like a fun way to boost your kids’ time using and watching educational videos, apps, movies, and T.V., have them complete a Color Scavenger Hunt.
This activity will be great practice for observational skills. Oh, and you can have them look up synonyms for these color words to expand their vocabulary 😉
