While you are planning and working on a craft, chatter can arise. As hands are kept busy, your kids and you may feel more comfortable chatting about a specific topic or nothing in particular.

Depending on the craft of choice, fine motor skills are typically practiced. Many crafts present a bit of a challenge to finger dexterity and more.

Creative juices begin to flow as your child works out self-expression through the manipulation of arts and crafts materials.

Your child may also benefit from building skills in following directions and taking turns (for example, if there is only one pair of scissors).

How to Make Time for Crafts & Hands-On Activities

Crafts for your homeschool can be composed of simple two-step creations. Or complex designs that take days or weeks to complete.

The joy and beauty of craft time for your family is: YOU select based on what is best for you and your kids.

Let's say you have a super busy week. Like, you aren't even sure what you are going to be able to come to the surface for a quick breath of air. You may think, "I have absolutely no time to even consider crafts for my kids this week."

I invite you to pause and rethink. Why? Well, easy crafts might just actually be your saving grace. Easy crafts might be your way to grab those few puffs of air (and maybe even a moment or two to yourself!).

My dear sweet homeschool mama, you can incorporate these simple crafts into your day. With the right materials (many of which are recycled bits from about your home) in a craft supply box, craft time can happen quickly and smoothly.

As mentioned, I suggest creating a craft supply drawer, closet, or box to house your materials. This single step of prep work can save you tons of time. Place these suggested materials (and any others that you believe would be great for easy crafts) in your craft supply area.
