Why You'll LoveThis Dr. Seuss Movement Game

Kids like to move. And lots of kids love Dr. Seuss! Why not combine two of their favorite things with a themed activity cube?

As my boys and I prepare to celebrate one of our favorite days of the year, Dr. Seuss Day (a.k.a. Read Across America), we're getting special activities, printables, and games ready. We love adding new ways to boost learning to our arsenal of learning fun.

This year, the boys and I decided that we needed a few activities that inspired movement. As much as we love playing fun games like our Dr. Seuss-Inspired Bingo and Mad Libs, we also know the value of getting up and moving during our day.

And if you're a busy mom or teacher, you know how important it is to have easy activities to use with the kids. Open-and-go games that don't involve any prep work are absolute lifesavers. That's where this Dr. Seuss Activity Cube comes in!

How This Dr. Seuss Game Works

There are two versions of the activity cube: Printed prompts or Blank to create your own special Dr. Seuss-themed prompts.

Unassembled Dr. Seuss activity cube with material needed: scissors, glue, and tape

If you prefer (or need) open-and-go fun, the printed prompts are fabulous. Simply create the cube (see pictures and steps below), take turns rolling the cube, and act out the prompts.

Your kids will have a blast stretching, exercising, and imitating like Dr. Seuss characters!

Or, if you prefer or have time for a bit of DIY, use the blank cube to craft your own prompts. You can do it yourself or get your kids in on the fun.

Think about each Dr. Seuss character presented on the cube. What are some behaviors or actions you'd expect? Jot those ideas down on the cube, assemble, and get up and move!
