Easily Have Engineering Fun with Your Kids

Do you have kids who are thinking about pursuing a career as an engineer? Or maybe you'd like to expose your students to a variety of science themes? Perhaps you're looking for cool ways to spark creativity?

I love when books plant a seed of curiosity that grows and grows. Recently, I was working on some growth mindset activities with my two younger boys. We were reading Rosie Revere, Engineer. It's a delightful book about a young girl who dreams of becoming an engineer. Overcoming shyness and fear of making mistakes, she thinks outside the box and upcycles materials to create all sorts of amazing things.

Well, this story inspired my boys to go down some terrific rabbit trails and ask some powerful questions! What does an engineer do? What kinds of engineers are there? And what type of subjects and classes does a future engineer need to take?

I knew it was time to add some engineering activities for kids to our homeschool fun!
