Get Creative When You Make Writing Fun
Do you have kids who like to write? If so, thank your lucky stars! Because writing can be a major battle in our homeschool IF I’m not smart about it.
Writing is not my boys’ cup of tea. They would rather scrub toilets or scrape old gum off the bottom of our dining room table than do a writing assignment.
To offset their distaste for writing, I’ve discovered that getting creative and building on their interests makes the writing process less of a struggle. Well, at least we don’t have gnashing of teeth.
One of the best ways to make writing fun in our homeschool is to base it on seasonal and fun holidays. So, Halloween writing fun pages and activities it is!

Ideas for Using These Free Halloween Writing Fun Pages & Activities
With a total of 11 pages, your kids can have special writing time this Halloween. Themes are not scary or icky or yucky. I’m not a fan of all that gore and creepy stuff. Plus, I like to make sure that all ages (from pre-K through high school) can use for my crew of boys.
My boys will be using these Halloween writing fun pages and activities as part of our holiday poetry teatime.
The two older boys will use the lined or blank papers with Halloween themes to write poems related to this holiday. They may choose an acrostic poem using the letters H-A-L-L-O-W-E-E-N or T-R-I-C-K-O-R-T-R-E-A-T (or other Halloween-related word). Or maybe they’ll pick to write a Halloween haiku.
My three younger boys will use the 2 story/word cubes to find a Halloween-theme for a poem and picture. They’ll have the option to dictate their poem to me and I act as their scribe or give it a go on their own! Each boy will then use a lined or blank Halloween writing fun for their final work.
These 11 free Halloween Writing Fun pages and activities are also wonderful for:
