Add a Bit of Zest to Your Learning Fun
After making a pitcher of lemonade with my boys, we sat down to relax together as we often do during our summer homeschooling. Our conversations can go in all sorts of directions so I wasn’t that surprised when started to take a deep dive into all things lemons.
As we sipped our lemonade, their questions started getting more complex, like “What’s that white thing in the middle of the lemon called?” (I had to admit that I had no idea!) That curiosity sparked such a fun chat and I realized it was the perfect opportunity to go a little deeper into learning about lemons.
I wanted something simple, engaging, and educational to help us explore lemons. It turned out to be a big hit with my boys and I just knew I had to share it with you, too!

Whether you’re enjoying a summer afternoon or looking to add some fun to your homeschool day, these lemon printables can be used in all sorts of ways. Here are a few easy ideas to help you get started:
- Pair with a hands-on activity: Start by making lemonade (or lemon bars!) with your kids. It’s a simple way to get them engaged before using the printable pack. Also, we had a bag of lemons so enjoyed observing them while we talked and worked.
- Use the word search as a warm-up.
- Add a creative twist: Encourage your students to draw their own lemons. They can make comic strips with a lemon superhero (with maybe an orange for a sidekick).
- Keep it light and fun: These printables are meant to be low on prep and high on fun. Pick what works best for your children and you and skip what you want. You can always come back to it at a later time.
