Make It Easy to Learn About the 5 Senses

Isn't it so cool to find new and simple ways to make science fun for your kids and you? I LOVE finding educational resources (especially freebies) to boost our homeschool adventures!

My younger boys and I love to play trivia as part of our homeschool fun activities. We like to enjoy a fun competition of who can answer the question with the correct answer first.

Recently, a trivia question came up about the five senses. We ended up giggling so hard as we all raced to say each sense the fastest.

As a result of that question, the boys and I started chatting about each sense and the role it plays in our lives. It's awesome when we rabbit trail like that!

When we wrapped up our conversation, I was thrilled to have these five sense printables to use - and to share with you 😊

Learn All About These Five Senses Printables

This free printable set of 5 senses activities has seven pages (including cover and terms of use page).

The cover page says "5 Senses". I've included an example of how the foldable activity looks when completed.

One page is in black-and-white and has two brain halves to be colored and cut out along the dotted lines.

Another two pages are also in black-and-white and contain:

  • 5 Senses with face
  • TASTE (with tongue) and description: Lets use experience different flavors: sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami.
  • SMELL (with nose): Enables us to detect and identify various scents and odors.
  • HEARING (with ear): Allows us to perceive sounds and vibrations in the environment.
  • TOUCH (with hand): Helps us feel textures, pressure, temperature, and pain.
  • VISION (with eye): Helps us see and distinguish colors, shapes, and sizes.

Three pages are in color and are to be used for the sorting activity. There is a chart where you can sort the items by sense. The items are to be cut out and placed in the appropriate column. Your students can glue the items onto the page or keep loose if you'd like to use again and again (great for review!).
