Creative Ideas for Enjoying These Christmas Math Activities
Are you wondering what coordinate graphing activities are? Great question!
Coordinate graphing is typically first taught in 5th grade. My boys loved getting to this part of their math adventures. They said it felt like playing Battleship.
To make it easy to get started with these math + art activities, I recommend that you gather your tools:
- pencils
- erasable pens
- crayons
- color pencils
- fine-tip markers
You’ll find a coordinate graphing code with plot points (for example – 7, 6) at the top of each page. In this example, your student would go across 7, up 6, and mark the spot (plotting points).
This graphing activity set is a great way to get practice with coordinate pairs of whole numbers in the first quadrant.
Once your kids have finished their graph, a mystery picture will be revealed on each printable worksheet. If time allows, encourage your students to color or shade in the image. The answer keys show suggested colors. But, feel free to get creative and add your unique touch!
This set of Christmas math worksheets can be a great activity for:
- Independent work
- Early finishers
- Brain breaks
- Rainy (or snowy) day fun
