How to Make This Christmas Handprint Wreath
This Christmas craft is super simple and totally fun to make. You can follow these steps to have a wreath that looks like the example in the pictures. I encourage you and your kids to think outside the box and make your paper wreath your own.
Prepare the base and trace hands.
Cut out the center of a paper plate so you are left with a ring. This will be the base of your wreath. Trace hand on green construction paper. Cut it out. Repeat this step several times using both shades of green paper to create multiple handprints.

Cut out the handprints and make the berries.
Cut out the green handprints. From the red construction paper, cut out several small circles. These shapes will be the berries for your wreath.

Assemble the handprints and add the berries.
Glue the handprints. Add the red paper circles as berries.

Assemble the wreath and add the ribbon hanger..
Add the handprints all the way around the paper plate ring, overlapping them to look full and leafy. Add the red ribbon as a hanger.

Creative Ideas for Making and Using This Christmas Craft
This handprint wreath craft is one of those simple projects that you can enjoy in so many ways. Here are a few fun ideas and tips to make it even more special:
- Use different shades of green. Mixing light and dark greens gives your wreath a beautiful layered look that pops. Add a touch of glitter paper or glue for a little sparkle.
- Add names and dates. Write your child’s name and the year on the back to turn it into a keepsake you can treasure for years to come.
- Make it a family or classroom project. Use a handprint or two from each child. Combine them into one large wreath as part of a group craft.
- Turn it into a countdown or gratitude wreath. Write one thing your child is thankful for or excited about on each handprint. It’s such a sweet way to combine art with meaningful reflection during the holidays.
No matter how you choose to make it, this craft is a wonderful holiday activity for kids. Sometimes the simplest projects create the sweetest memories!
