Coloring Pages to Help You Celebrate Earth Day with Your Kids
Get ready for an awesome Earth Day with kids! This holiday was first celebrated on April 22, 1970. The ideas behind this special holiday are to promote better care of our planet.
On this day, people are encouraged to learn more about and practice environmental-friendly ways of living. A global event, people gather together to clean up land, plant trees, and speak with government officials.
Earth Day is a fabulous time to encourage kids to get in on this positive movement.
Discuss new ways to reduce, reuse, and recycle. Get outside and into your neighborhood, parks, and other common areas to clean up. Plant trees and other greenery to spark new life.
My boys and I love to incorporate Earth Day challenges into our homeschool and family life. Over the years, we've gone to our local park and picked up trash, planted trees in our yards, and brainstormed new ways to upcycle materials.

This year, I wanted to add some printable Earth Day activities to our rotation. My two younger boys love to chat about ideas while coloring. I find that this hands-on activity encourages my boys to brainstorm and process.
These three free Earth Day Coloring Pages include prompts for kids to maximize the use of the paper by creating lists and brainstorming on the back of each sheet. (I'm aware that printing an activity isn't necessarily the most environmentally friendly thing so use this opportunity to teach kids about ways to stretch the use of worksheets and such!).
