If you'd like a special way for kids to enjoy a hands-on activity, you'll love this lemon stamping project. We used it for making lemonade crafts but you could certainly do it for iced tea or other cool drinks!

This lemonade craft was such a hit with my boys when they were younger. As part of our summer homeschool fun, we decided to get a little creative with lemons and make some art. The boys were absolutely thrilled when I handed them a lemon cut in half and a paintbrush.They thought it was the coolest thing use it as a stamp. It was such a simple hands-on activity and the results were adorable!

We ended up using our DIY lemonade prints to decorate our homeschool room. These homemade delights added the perfect touch of summer fun! This craft was so easy to set up and the boys loved how they could make their own textured designs.

As with any creative project with kids, I highly encourage your to gather the materials that you'll be using prior to getting started. Also, I found it helpful to have the lemons cut in half and in small plastic bags. You can also cut a few lemons in quarters for a different look! You will need:

  • Cardboard (cut into the shape of a glass)
  • Paint
  • A lemon (cut in half)
  • Paintbrushes
  • A straw 
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Optional: You can also add fun embellishments like glitter or markers for cool effects.

Step-by-Step Instructions for Your Lemon Stamping Craft

Your kids will love making a bright and cheerful glass of lemonade using cardboard, paint, and real lemon stamps for a unique texture. A straw adds the perfect finishing touch. Enjoy for summer fun and celebrating National Lemonade Day (the first Sunday in May).

Cut and paint the glass shape.

Cut a piece of cardboard into the shape of a tall glass. Paint the cardboard glass in bright, fun colors like pink for pink lemonade, reddish-pink for strawberry lemonade, or green for limeade.

Enjoy some lemon stamping!

Dip the cut side of the lemon into yellow paint and stamp it onto the painted cardboard. Repeat to create lemon slices inside the “glass.”
