The Preschool Years Can Be So Much Fun!

Preschool years can be so special for young learners. It’s a wonderful time to explore and discover the world around them! Excited to be able to do more, preschoolers love to learn with their hands, hearts, and minds.

One of my absolutely favorite age groups to teach is preschoolers. I had the privilege of working alongside my mom as a preschool summer camp aide during my high school years. Amazing practice for homeschooling my boys through their preschool years!

As a homeschool mom of five boys, I designed this program during the preschool years of my youngest. I’d used similar approaches with his older brothers and saw just how powerful simple, story-centered learning could be. Using familiar tales helped us have rich discussions, spark imagination, and sneak in essential early learning skills without pressure or overwhelm.

Why Preschool Enchantment?

Over the years, I recognized that certain themes and approaches seem to work best for preschoolers. Highest engagement and mastery of skills seem to come from using:

  • familiar subjects and themes, building on previous knowledge
  • hands-on learning (experiential, kinesthetic)
  • combining multiple subjects to study a theme (like unit studies)
  • activities to spark creativity and imagination
  • including a variety of skills and activities to address different learning styles
  • a relaxed approach

Fairy tales, fables, and nursery rhymes are often familiar stories and themes for kids and their adults. I have found that these timeless classics open the door to fascinating conversations and memorable lessons. And these stories lend themselves to fantastic hands-on learning and creative activities! Who doesn’t benefit from a bit of enchantment?

The number one reason that I wanted to create homeschool preschool resources using fairy tales, fables, and nursery rhymes:  I love these classic tale and knew that my enthusiasm will transfer to my boys.

What You’ll Find Preschool Enchantment

Preschool Enchantment is designed to make your preschool planning easy, engaging, and enjoyable for both you and your child. Each of the 26 weekly unit studies is centered around a classic story (fairy tale, fable, or nursery rhyme) and built to support early learning in a relaxed, creative way.

Every week includes:

  • A featured story to explore together
  • Comprehension and conversation starter questions to spark meaningful discussions
  • Letter and number focus with playful, hands-on activities
  • A color or shape to reinforce key early concepts
  • STEM, songs, crafts, and creative projects to encourage exploration and imagination
  • Printable activities like mazes, tracing, matching, and more
  • A simple, flexible schedule you can adapt to your family’s rhythm

Whether you’re looking for a complete homeschool preschool plan or just want to add some fun to your learning time, this program offers an easy way to bring it all together with minimal prep.

I know what it means to have an erratic schedule. I designed these weekly preschool unit studies with fairy tales, fables, and nursery rhymes themes to be as simple as possible (meaning able to pick up and start learning!).

Also, I am a firm believer in play as the primary activity for preschoolers. These activities are to supplement story time and lots of play. I am just the type that needs a plan and bit of preparation if I am going to successfully teach homeschool preschool. Maybe you can relate?
