As a homeschool mom who’s all about keeping things simple and fun, I absolutely love activities that are print-and-go. And this life cycle of a pumpkin activity totally fits the bill. I created it because I wanted another easy yet meaningful way for my boys to explore science concepts without a ton of prep or mess.
We’ve used our pumpkin life cycle diorama in the past and it was such a hit. It’s a cool 3D activity, but sometimes you just need something different that’s visual and hands-on. I wanted my younger boys to have a learning tool that they could pop right into a homeschool binder. That’s where this foldable comes in!

Creative Ideas for Making and Using Your Life Cycle of a Pumpkin Activity
To make your pumpkin life cycle foldable sturdy and long-lasting, I highly recommend printing it on white cardstock. It holds up beautifully and gives your students a solid surface to color and fold. You’ll also want to have scissors, crayons or markers, and a glue stick or tape on hand to assemble the foldout.
- Add to a Fall Learning Center or Science Table: Display the foldable next to real pumpkins, seeds, and a few pumpkin-themed books. You could even add magnifying glasses for extra science fun!
- Use it as a Storytelling Tool: Have kids retell the pumpkin life cycle using their foldable as a prop.
