As a mom of five boys with an age range of twelve years, I've had to use a lot of outside the box thinking when it comes to quiet indoor winter activities. We live in western Pennsylvania in a snow belt region. Freezing temperatures and blizzard conditions can have use stuck inside for days at a time. So, I've had to think of many ways to help my kids focus their energy in positive way.

Activity trays were one of my favorite choices. I could quickly put together these trays with craft materials that we had. And the boys would have a blast with sensory play (like when I'd include our Cool Whip playdough) and more!

This snowman theme (which was often turned into snow girl, snow boy, snow dog, etc.) was always a big success with my boys. I hope that it inspires you to have a bunch of imaginative fun with your kids, too!
