Easily Add a Creative Touch to Your Father's Day Celebration

Are you looking for a unique way to help kids show dad that they care? These free printable Father's Day bookmarks to color are awesome DIY activities to do that!

I'm constantly looking for (and making) print-and-go ways to celebrate any holiday, season, or special event with my boys. These types of printables are so simple to prepare ahead of time or get ready if you need a last-minute activity.

As I was thinking ahead for things that my boys could do as part of our homeschool fun activities to prepare for Father's Day, I recalled some of their more recent favorite printables - coloring bookmarks (like our Pokemon, Super Mario, and Minecraft bookmarks)! These freebies are a bit more detailed and the boys like that type of challenge.

I thought bookmarks would be fun for the boys to customize and give to their dad and other father figures in their lives. I sincerely hope that your children have a blast making and sharing them, too.

This free printable set of Father's Day coloring bookmarks includes five different styles on one printable page. All of the bookmarks are designed to be colored and are in black-and-white.

Each bookmarks has father themes and positive messages, like:

Creative Ideas for Making These Coloring Bookmarks

I highly suggest that you use white cardstock to print these bookmarks for improved durability. Also, you may want to laminate the bookmarks after your child is done coloring and customizing.

I really like to use glitter gel pens for my coloring bookmarks. I think the shiny, shimmery effects are sensational. My boys prefer using fine-tip markers and color pencils. Crayons with nice tips can work.

Another idea for reinforcing the bookmarks is to use washi tape on the backs. This step strengthens the bookmark, as well as adds a fun pattern or texture.

A fun thing to do is to punch a hole in the top of the bookmark and attach a ribbon or piece of colored twine or yarn. It's an extra special touch - especially if being given as a gift or used as a gift tag!
