How to Make This Cute Love Bug Craft

Gather all supplies
Use the checklist found above for suggested materials. As always, adjust the supplies to what you have.
*Only adults should use a glue gun. You'll see one in these pictures. You can totally use glue

Assemble the love bugs
To create each love bug, line up five jumbo craft sticks on your work surface. Using scissors, trim one additional jumbo craft stick to the width of the love bug and glue it to the back of the other sticks.

Paint the love bugs
Paint the love bugs red, pink, and white. Or go with a favorite color or theme! Let the paint dry before applying a second coat, if necessary.

Add the wings to the love bugs
Flip the love bugs over and attach two heart doilies to the back with glue or tape. These heart doilies will be the wings.

Add details on your love bug face
Attach two google eyes and a tinsel pom pom nose to each love bug. Create cheeks by dipping a new pencil eraser into red or pink paint and stamping it on either side of the love bug's nose.

Make the antennae
Wind the chenille stems around the pencil to create a coil. Bend in half and attach a small glitter foam heart to each end of the antennae.

Attach the antennae
Flip the love bugs over and attach the antennae to the top with glue or tape. Mix and match the colors to create your own unique combinations.

Add glitter hearts
Attach a large glitter heart to teach of the love bug's bodies.

Add smile
To finish the craft, draw a smile on each love bug's face from cheek to cheek with a black marker.
