Word Searches Are Great Ways to Make Holidays Fun
If you’re looking for an easy-to-use and open-and-go activity to make your Valentine’s Day celebration fun, you’ll love this free printable word search.
My boys and I have recently been enjoying these types of word puzzles in our homeschool. The boys enjoy the challenge of finding the words and often compete to see who can find which word first.
And word searches have some amazing benefits! As kids are enjoying this fun activity with their word puzzle, they’re practicing skills like:
- Word recognition
- Spelling skills
- Growth mindset
- Focus and attention
This word search with Valentine’s Day themes will be added to our arsenal of fun activities for our holiday poetry teatime 🙂 The printable word puzzles would be great for your classroom, party, library, and family fun, too.

Wonderful Ways to Boost the Learning Fun with This Valentine’s Day Word Search
You can easily make this Valentine’s Day Word Search more exciting for kids. Try a few of these ideas for great ways to bolster the learning fun:
- Use fun writing utensils that your kids love. Do your kids beg to use color pens, markers, or highlighters? Other fun options include color pencils, crayons, and Kwik Stix.
- Make it a fun competition. Encourage your kids to see who can find each word first. Keep it light and merry 🙂
- For a bonus, challenge your kids to put the Valentine’s Day words in alphabetical order.
- Have your kids use the back of the page to doodle what each of the words means to them.
- Work in pairs for a fun group activity.
- Use a timer. Agree upon a specific amount of time (like five minutes) to solve. Or use a stopwatch to see how long it takes to complete.
