A Cute Way to Celebrate and Boost Learning

Are planning and preparing for an Easter event or party with kids? Perhaps you have a spring themed lesson and want some frugal activities to work on? Maybe you'd like some cute crafts for your lessons about farms or farm animals?

I'm happy to share that this Easter chick craft with cupcake liners is excellent for all of those things and more.

When my oldest was little, The Little Red Hen board book by Bryon Baron was one of his absolute favorites. It was always a part of our rotation of read-aloud books before naps, bedtime, or any time of day. I think the combination of colorful pictures and simple story line were part of it. And he got such a kick out of the The Little Red Hen's chicks!

Naturally, I thought of different ways to keep the fun going based on his interest in this book. This cupcake liner chick craft was awesome because it grew with him. I had to help him a lot at first. But, as he progressed through preschool and so on, he was able to independently complete the craft and even add extras.

As we added more boys to our family (my own little chicks!), we continued to enjoy this project for Easter chick crafts and more.

  • Yellow Cupcake Liners (if you can find mini-cupcake liners, try those too!)
  • Orange, Yellow, and Blue Construction Paper
