If you want to easily boost your Halloween fun with kids, STEM activities are incredible ways to do just that. STEM projects (Science Technology Engineering Mathematics) encourage your kids to get creative and apply skills that they've learned and developed.
When you combine STEM with holiday themes (like Halloween), you're able to better engage your students as they enjoy fun learning activities.
I'm always looking for new ways to take our learning fun to the next level. As my boys are getting older, it's a bit more of a challenge. I'm thrilled that my boys are excited about these mini-Halloween STEM kits! And I can't wait to join them in all this creative fun this Halloween season 🎃

This pack includes 8 pages with:

- 6 pages with printable Halloween STEM kit bag toppers (2 bag toppers per page)
How to Make These Halloween STEM Kits for Kids
These Halloween STEM kits are rather simple to make. I recommend printing the bag toppers on white cardstock for durability.
To make the bags, you'll need:
- a small bag (like clear plastic sandwich bag, small plastic zipper bag, small paper lunch bag)
- printed bag toppers
- scissors
- stapler
- supplies for each kit (more on the suggested materials in the section below)
How to make these STEM Kits for Kids
- Print out bag topper.
- Cut out bag topper.
- Fold bag topper along dotted line.
- Add materials for the STEM kit to the bag.
- Close bag.
- Place open end of bag topper along top of closed bag.
- Staple bag topper into place.
Another idea is to simply close the bag and only use the label portion of the bag topper (cut along dotted line) and adhere to front of bag.

Creative Ideas for Enjoying These DIY STEM Kits
You can use these DIY Halloween STEM kits in so many ways!
I decided to get my boys involved in making these kits. They're getting a big kick out of gathering the supplies.
To add a bit of writing fun, I'm having them jot down the ideas, as well as steps that they'll be using, on an index card. We're also going to boost the STEM fun by using our free printable student project planner pages to map out ideas, tweak, and record final process. Oh, and our states of matter printable activities pack is a great way to boost the science fun!
Ask your students questions to extend the science spooky fun, like:
- How could you make ghost rockets?
- What would you need to make a pumpkin volcano?
- How could you make "ghost slime"?
- What are some fun pumpkin catapult games that we could play with big, medium, and small pumpkins?
- What tools or materials can we use for "candy grabbers"?
OR you can choose to surprise your kids with these mini Halloween STEM kits!
