Scavenger Hunts Are Simple Yet Super Fun Holiday Activities!
If you need an easy activity for your holiday fun collection, you’ll want to make sure you add a scavenger hunt.
This type of activity is super fun and exciting. It includes objects for your kids to search for and record their findings.
I love enjoying scavenger hunts with my boys. Their faces light up when they hear that they have a special mission to accomplish.
In addition to their excitement, another reason that I love scavenger hunts is that these activities are affordable. All you have to do is print-and-go! (And no worries if you don’t have all the objects on the scavenger hunt list- I share some creative ideas to get around that for you below.)

Creative Ways to Boost the Fun with This St. Patrick’s Day Activity
With this special scavenger hunt, your children will color in the objects on the list as they find them. The objects are in black-and-white and include the words (great for reading practice!).
I recommend printing this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt on white cardstock for durability. Regular printer paper works fine. But, if your kids are like my boys, they get excited with an activity like this and might tear the paper 😉
Another awesome idea is to laminate the scavenger hunt or place it in a dry erase sleeve pocket. With these options, you can use the printable again and again.
Your kids might like to use a clipboard as they go around and search for these St Patrick’s Day items in your home, classroom, community center, or other fun celebration spot.
You may want to give your children this scavenger hunt a few days before the holiday. Encourage them to look for and record what they find – and to add tally marks if your children find an item more than once.
If your kids are learning to read (or you want to reinforce spelling of St. Patrick’s Day-themed words), write each word on this list on a sticky note or index card. Hide the words around the room or your home. Your kids can search for the words, spell, read, and record!
You can extend that type of holiday learning fun by using those words to make sentences and paragraphs.
