It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…well, at least if you go to any stores! That’s A-Okay in my book though…I’m like Buddy the Elf with the holidays!
In eager anticipation of my favorite holiday, I love scouring Pinterest and Google for ways to include holiday-themed learning fun into our homeschool. I like to keep things A.F.A.P. (as frugal as possible!) so I love when I find quality freebies. Scroll down to end of this post to follow Busy Boys Brigade on Pinterest-and see everything that catches my eye!
Of course, I also feel the need to create materials for our homeschool. I just get such a joy in doing so-and in sharing them here!
I reflected on what activities really seemed to resonate with my boys. The work mats that I created for use during Fall were a huge hit! My boys used to practice a variety of educational concepts, including:
- sight words
- letter sounds
- number recognition
- math facts
Smiley and Bear kept asking to use the work mats again and again. (Luckily, I laminated one set to reuse-or we would have gone through a lot of paper!)
I had one of these delayed a-ha moments-gears started turning and a lightbulb went off. Yes, I would create holiday -themed work mats!
