Got kids who love crafts? This ultimate gift guide for kids who love crafts will help you find a super special present.

Crafts can be a great way for kids of any age to express themselves and have hands-on fun.

Younger children can benefit from learning self-control, as well as fine and gross motor skills.

Older kids get the satisfaction of building upon skills learned when younger, discovering abilities they may want to cultivate and having a completed piece of work to use as a gift or special memory.

My five boys and I cherish our craft times in our homeschool. These occasions are special because we allow our creativity to flow into our work. We enjoy the freedom to take a project idea and run with it. Paint may splatter, glitter may fly, and clay may get permanently embedded in our carpet.

Before you think I have completely lost my marbles, I was not always a carefree craft mom. Heavens no! With my first boy, I was very concerned about containing messes and sticking to directions.

And then I had four more boys.

My Type A personality slowly evolved over the years into what I like to call Type AB, or a recovering Type B. I know the benefits of both approaches. I understand that it is important to allow my boys the freedom to create and express themselves. I also know how vital it is that they are given expectations and rules to learn what is okay and not okay.

It’s a daily struggle. So, Type AB it is! I work to find a balance in cultivating my sons’ artistic and creative sides while maintaining a home that does not look like a complete pigsty.

Can you relate?

Anyhoo, I started to investigate new craft resources that we could include in our homeschool learning fun and found these wonderful resources to share.

(Fun sidenote:  I used to work part-time at Michael’s Arts & Crafts to help me get through graduate school. I have a slight obsession with crafts and have always loved working on projects with my boys. All of my boys are kids who love crafts. So much creative fun to be had by all!)

To organize all of these amazing craft products and kits, I created seven categories for kids who love crafts:

  • Paper Crafts
  • Sewing/Cross Stitch/Embroidery
  • Hands-On
  • Woodwork
  • Pottery & Ceramics
  • Jewelry Making
  • Knitting & Crochet

Crafts sets and kits are amazing gifts for kids. They’re affordable ways to help the kids in your life develop new skills. Also, crafts can be a spark for your kids’ imaginations and creativity. (Bonus points for getting them away from screens!)
