Positively Direct All That Christmas Energy & Excitement
The holidays can bring out the best and worst.
Sure, it's a time of being joyful, merry, and bright.
But, it's also a time of high energy, excitement, and busy.
Adults have a lot to do, like baking, shopping, decorating, and wrapping. Those holiday activities can make you feel exhausted.
Kids, on the other hand, often find themselves with more time. School work is usually less demanding during this time as attention is given to celebrations and such. Extracurricular activities take a break. And parents are busy with all the holiday prep.
Plus, there's so much to look forward to as Christmas approaches. It's natural for kids to get extra excited (and even stressed)!
And if your kids are like my boys, then you're very familiar with how the holiday season turns them into an interesting mix of bouncy balls, chatterboxes, and min-tornadoes.
To help kids direct all that Christmas energy and excitement into positive exercises, I made these free creative prompts of Holiday Fitness Activities.
With seasonal themes, these prompts are created to engage your kids in fun Christmas activities as they burn off that energy.
Creative Ways to Use These Holiday Fitness Activities for Kids
This free printable set of Holiday Fitness Activities for Kids includes 20 creative prompts.
I recommend printing on white cardstock for durability. (I use this affordable pack from Neenah for quality printing of a variety of learning fun activities).
You can store these holiday fitness prompts in a tall glass jar or use a paperclip to keep together. I think it's also fun to store in a Christmas stocking 😉
Another fun idea for storing these paper strips of holiday fitness activities is to give your kids a paper lunch bag to decorate and use as special storage.
You'll find a few of these holiday fitness prompts suggest using common household materials, like:
- balloons
- water bottle
- Christmas music
- empty box
- book
- ribbon
These suggestions are completely optional. Use what you have! I also encourage you to tweak these activities to best fit the needs of your family.
Oh, and these holiday gross motor activities are more awesome ways to burn off some of that energy and excitement!
