02

Prepare handprint ghost

Trace your child's handprint on white paper. The example shows how it looks with the fingers kept together. Another idea is to slightly separate the fingers prior to tracing.

Cut out the handprint and draw a face on the ghost.

03

Make the window

Once the popsicle sticks are dry, arrange four of them in a square. Take two more and lay them in a plus shape across the square. Glue these together wherever one stick crosses another.

Ideas for Making and Using Your DIY Ghost Crafts

It's easy to customize your ghost handprint crafts and use for all sorts of holiday fun. Here are a few ideas for enjoying with your kids:

Easily customize your DIY ghosts by using coloring tools (markers or crayons) on or glitter glue on the "window" and ghost. Instead of yellow paint for your popsicle sticks, consider using different colors.

If you'd rather not use wood craft sticks, no worries! Try strips of cardstock or configure pipe cleaners into a window shape.

Try having your students spread their fingers out prior to tracing and cutting out if you'd like a different look. Googly eyes (or puffy paint for eyes) on your ghost can add in neat effect.

This Halloween craft for kids is a nice option to have, especially when you're working with young learners. You can prepare the windows ahead of time and simple trace, cut out, and adhere for a mess-free project.
