Why We Love Pi Day at Our House
For over 12 years, my boys and I have had a blast celebrating fun days in our homeschool. And one of our favorite fun days to enjoy together has been Pi Day! 🎉
The symbol pi (π) is a mathematical way to represent the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter - that cool irrational number 3.141592654 (often seen as 3.1416 or the fraction 22/7).
Last year, we used our free printable Pi Day fun activities pack to boost our celebration. This year, I've added these Pi Day coloring sheets - and I'm so excited to share them with you! 😊

Fun Ways to Use These Color by Number Activities
Want to take your Pi Day fun to the next level? Here are some of my favorite ideas:
- Gather your coloring utensils (like crayons, markers, color pencils, etc.). Give your students the opportunity to select which tools they'd like to use.
- Display the color by number printable pages when finished for all to look at and admire.
- If you have time, make (or buy) some Pi Day treats. A simple snack (that's a circular food) can be a smart way to take a break in between coloring activities.
More Ways to Boost the Learning Fun:
- Create an awesome Pi Day bulletin board if you're working with a group
- Practice making π symbols in different ways on the back of these Pi Day worksheets
- Challenge older kids to write out Pi's digits and get creative with math art projects
- Make a colorful Pi Day paper chain - use different colors for each digit
- Get crafty with Pi bracelets using pony beads and pipe cleaners
