Got kids who love Pokemon? Or maybe you're looking for simple and creative ways to supercharge your reading time?

These free printable Pokemon bookmarks are amazing ways to get your students excited about reading. And these bookmarks to color are so much fun to personalize!

All of my five boys have been obsessed with Pokemon at one time or another. We've gone through all different sorts of phases. My older two boys loved to watch the Pokemon T.V. shows. And they would spend hours looking over their Pokemon cards (gifted to us from one of my mom's friends) and chatting all about the abilities.

My younger three boys also enjoyed going through those Pokemon cards. And they really had fun drawing the characters and writing about Pokemon adventures. We'd work on Pokemon crafts. My middle boy would even create his own Pokemon characters!

Like many of my boys' interests, Pokemon would ebb and flow in our lives. My second boy is now in college - and some buddies starting playing Pokemon Go again. Well, that sparked another Pokemon surge around here!

Creative Ideas for Making and Sharing These Bookmarks

Bookmarks look boring? No way! You can totally take these coloring bookmarks to the next level with a few ideas and tips.

• Print these bookmarks on white cardstock for improved durability. Also, you may want to laminate the bookmarks after your child is done coloring and customizing.
• Provide a variety of coloring tools, like crayons, fine-tip markers, and color pencils. My boys like to mix-and-match to get different textures.
• Reinforce the bookmarks with washi tape on the backs. This step strengthens the bookmark, as well as adds a fun pattern or texture. You can also use painter's tape if you'd like.
• Punch a hole in the top of the bookmark and add a ribbon or piece of colored twine or yarn. It's a simple way to accessorize your bookmark.
