Make Math Fun with Simple Hands-On Activities
When you can combine worksheets with hands-on learning, you take math time to the next level.
I’m a firm believer in providing as many hands-on activities as possible for young learners. Kids learn best with lots of time for play and experiences.
But, sometimes you just need a printable worksheet or activity, like when:
- your schedule is crazy busy and you need print-and-go
- you want to make sure that your child is grasping a concept
- you would like or need proof of progress in your homeschool portfolio
- your kids like doing worksheets (like my boys do!)
- your kids could use some positive reinforcement with having an assignment and feeling good about completed work
For these reasons and more, I’ve sprinkled printable worksheets into my boys learning fun experiences.
I have found, however, that the best learning has happened when printables have a hands-on component, just like these pop fidget activities for math fun!
What Are Pop Fidget Activities?
Are you familiar with these pop fidget things (also called bubble pop toys)?
I wasn’t too sure about these silicone reusable bubble wrap-like toys. Would they really help with keeping hands busy, relieving stress, and improving focus?
Since the pop fidget toys aren’t too expensive, I decided to give them a try with my boys. I surprised them with this set of 4 pop fidgets in a rainbow of colors and different shapes. They were so excited to try them out!
These simple fidget toys are now a natural part of our homeschool. We keep them in our homeschool carts to grab whenever any of us need a quiet way to self-soothe.
What’s In This Free Printable Pack of Pop Fidget Activities?
I love making and sharing printable activities based on my boys’ interests. I find that it’s a super easy way to engage kids and boost learning fun.
This free printable pack of pop fidget activities includes 20 pages of simple math activities. These printables feature cute pop fidget shapes.
Each math printable page has 3 activities that feature practice with numbers. For example, for the number one page, your child will color in 1 bubble on the circle pop fidget, trace the number word “one”, and graph it in a ten-frame.
Four different pop fidget shapes are featured throughout the printable pack: circle, square, heart, and octagon.
I purchased this inexpensive set of rainbow-color pop fidgets to correspond with this printable pack to add a hands-on component to the activities.

Creative Ideas for Boosting the Fun with These Free Math Printables
These printable activities are pretty fun on their own. But, you can definitely take it to the next level with a few simple ideas.
- Provide a variety of coloring and writing tools. Pencils with rainbows or polka dots are super fun additions. Other ideas include:
- color pencils
- erasable pens (like our favorite – Frixion!)
- If you have older kids working on these printables, add some higher level math like addition and subtraction.
- Place a piece of white printer paper on top of the pop fidget shapes. Have your kids trace and make pictures or games.
- Print the pop fidget activities on white cardstock and laminate (or put in dry erase pocket sleeve) to be used again and again with dry eraser markers.
