Why This Planner Will Help You Enjoy Holiday Fun with Kids

Life with kids can be busy. And it's easy to forget about planning for holiday fun.

You might have the best of intentions to plan a fun day. Then before you know it, time seems to go in warp drive and you're standing there, wondering how another holiday is here with nothing ready.

Or maybe you have tons of ideas and activities that you know will be a hit with your kids. You have a Pinterest board (like my Valentine's Day one) filled with so much awesome.

But, all those ideas and activities stay right there because when you go to that board, overwhelm hits and you don't know where to begin.

I've done all of the above, especially with our current erratic homeschool schedule. 

I'm tired of missing out on making special memories with my boys. And I'm going to do something about it!

List of Ideas & Activities for Your Valentine's Day Fun 

You can use this Valentine's Day Fun Planner in two ways. One version contains these categories for holiday fun:

• Activities

• Snack

• Other (like art or music)

The other printable is blank, in case you want to switch up the categories or add your own 🙂

The Valentine's Day Fun Planner includes gentle reminders to help you enjoy your holiday celebration.

My #1 tip is K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie!). We tend to overcomplicate fun with kids, only to add stress and misery. The simpler, the better!

For some categories, you may have multiple selections.

Other categories, like snack or craft, would be better to have only one option (unless you're spreading the fun over several days-see below). Narrow down your choices as much as possible to avoid decision fatigue!

Also, you can spread your Valentine's Day Fun over multiple days.

For example, we're planning to get started with our celebration about three days prior to February 14. We'll do a printable activity or two and read a book each day. It builds anticipation and decreases stress.

 

 

If you find that you don't get to all the activities you wrote down on your Valentine's Day Fun Planner, don't panic! You can extend the fun a day or two or jot down the ideas for the next year's festivities. It's better to enjoy your time together than to try to cram it all in 😉

My boys range from preschool to high school so I have a variety of ages to consider. If you have all younger or older kids, your Valentine's Day Fun Planner may look a lot different than mine. And that's totally cool!
