Crayons Are The Perfect Start to Fun with Kids
Ah! There's nothing like opening a new box of crayons.
The sight of all those fresh coloring tools with perfect points. It's like unlocking a rainbow of colors and endless creative fun. Your eyes scan your selection and rest upon your favorite color. With a gasp of glee, you gently pull out that crayon and think of the possibilities.
What's your favorite color of crayon? (I love this Complete List of Current Crayola Crayon Colors from Jenny's Crayon Collection.)
When I'd get a box of Crayola 64 (with built-in crayon sharpener!), it would feel like Christmas morning. Coloring was one of my favorite pastimes as a young girl. And silver was my jam!
I loved to think of ways to use that silver crayon in my artwork. Silver shoes, (like Dorothy wore in The Wizard of Oz book) silver flowers, silver houses-that silver crayon would quickly become a little nub.
Coloring with crayons is still one of my favorite things to do to relax. It's also one of my favorite things to do with my boys.
Crayons are colorful. Crayons are affordable. And crayons are full of creative potential.
So, I decided to put together a list of amazing ways to use crayons for fun at home with kids!
