Fantastic Recipes for Fall Playdough

This recipe is one of my favorites for homemade playdough. You will need:

• 1 cup flour
• ½ cup salt
• 1 Tbsp. cooking oil
• 1 Tbsp. cream of tartar
• 1 cup water
• food coloring (optional)
• extracts, spices, or essential oils (optional)

Add all dry ingredients to large pot and stir. If using spices, add dry spices now. Stir in oil and water. Add drops of food coloring and/or extracts, if desired. Cook over medium heat. Put on a cutting board or counter to cool. Knead playdough mixture until smooth. Add a few drops of essential oil, if desired. For Apple Cinnamon playdough, add drops of red food coloring, 1-2 tsp. cinnamon, and a few drops of cinnamon essential oil (if desired). For Pumpkin Spice playdough, add a few drops of yellow and red food coloring, 1 Tbsp. pumpkin spice, and 1 tsp. cinnamon. Other fabulous scents for Fall to consider are vanilla extract and maple extract.
