Enjoy Frugal Reading Fun with Frogs

Looking for fun and easy ways to boost reading for kids? Or maybe you're planning for a pond life or frog learning theme? Maybe you have children (or adults!) who really love frogs and you want to make them a special gift?

Well, these frog bookmarks to color are fantastic for all of those reasons and more 🐸

Recently, my boys and I have had a blast making and using our free printable coloring bookmarks. We love having these DIY ways to customize our reading experiences for our homeschool studies and reading for pleasure. The boys frequently change between their Super Mario bookmarks, Minecraft bookmarks, and Pokemon bookmarks. I'm a big fan of our mermaid bookmarks, growth mindset coloring bookmarks, and mandala bookmarks (so many ways to add pretty colors!).

After working on our frog life cycle diorama kit, I knew that I wanted more ways to incorporate frogs into our learning fun. Plus, we all enjoy a good frog pun or two. That's why I'm so excited about these frog coloring bookmarks for us and to share with you!

Creative Ideas for Making These Coloring Bookmarks

I recommend that you print these bookmarks on white cardstock for extra durability. You can also laminate the bookmarks (after your student is done coloring and customizing) to boost that durability.

I prefer to use glitter gel pens when coloring my bookmarks. I love the shimmery, shiny effects! My boys like to use color pencils and fine-tip markers.

Oh, and another easy way to reinforce the bookmarks is to use washi tape on the backs. This step strengthens the bookmark, as well as adds a fun pattern or texture (like glitter washi tape).

Want to add a cool extra touch to your bookmark? Use a hole punch at the top of the bookmark and add a ribbon or piece of colored twine or yarn.

Not sure if these black-and-white bookmarks with frog themes look that cool for kids? Well, let me tell you - you can really raise the fun level with these frugal activities!

Your students can create these bookmarks for their reading pleasure and to share with friends and loved ones. These printable bookmarks are wonderful for:

  • Your frog party
  • Celebrating World Frog Day (March 20)
  • Quick and easy activities for rainy day fun
  • Coloring fun for kids of all ages
