Fast, Frugal, and Fluffy Fun with Cloud Dough
Did you know that fun activities with kids don't have to be full of stress of cost a bunch of money? In fact, there are many simple ways to enjoy hand-on projects and DIY time.
As a busy homeschool mom of 5 boys, I've had to stick to a tight budget over the years. But, I didn't let that stop us from enjoying special moments and making precious memories. With a bit of creativity and flexibility, my boys and I have been able to try and delight in many fun activities.
After sharing our favorite homemade playdough recipe and slime recipes (like mermaid slime and space slime), I thought it was a great time to share our best cloud dough recipe with you! It's a wonderful material for sensory play and much more.
Ingredient List for Making This DIY Recipe
One of the best things about making cloud dough is that y ou really only need 2-3 ingredients. And you probably have these supplies in your home now!
½ cup
cornstarch
¼ cup
hair conditioner
food coloring
optional - if using, pick whatever colors you'd like!
New to making cloud dough? No worries! It's an easy-to-make material. And it mixes up so fast!
In addition to the ingredients listed above, you'll need measuring cups and a 1 gallon plastic bag that is sealable or has a zipper.

Step-by-Step Directions for How to Make

Add ingredients to bag
Add ½ cup cornstarch and ¼ cup conditioner to plastic bag.
Place 1 drop of food coloring in the bag. Add more food coloring if you'd like a brighter or darker color.

Remove the air from bag and seal
Gently press the sides of the bag together to remove all air.
Seal the bag.

Mix the ingredients in the bag
Using your hands, mix the ingredients in the bag.
Continue to mix until the ingredients fully combine and dough forms.

Remove the cloud dough
Once the dough has formed, remove it from the bag.
Continue to mix the cloud dough in your hands until you have the desired texture.
