Christmas + Pixel Coloring = Tons of Holiday Fun!
As my boys are getting older, it's become a bit more of a challenge to find activities for them to enjoy over the holidays.
We've been getting into more hands-on activities (like our cute snowman craft and hot cocoa mug sliding card). Plus, 3D craft holiday fun with coloring Christmas trees and gingerbread house templates.
And while those activities are awesome, I always like to have a few more tucked away in our collection of holiday fun stuff. Because my boys still get super excited about the holidays and it's nice to have positive ways to focus all that energy 😉
As I looked back at printable activities that my boys really enjoyed this past year, pixel art coloring pages were at the top of the list. I loved listening to their giggles and chit-chat as they worked on their Minecraft and Super Mario pixel art pages.
Naturally, I wanted Christmas pixel art activities to add to our holiday fun collection - and to share with you 😊

Ideas & Tips for Enjoying These Fun Coloring Activities with Kids
To make printable activities more fun for my boys (especially now that they're older), I like to have a list to refer to when I need inspiration. When I'm in the middle of doing stuff with my boys (and trying to sort through my holiday to-do list), sometimes I blank.
Here are a few of my ideas (and please share your ideas in the comments area below!):
- Make sure to have a variety of coloring tools for your kids to use. My boys love to color with:
- Big box of crayons
- Twistable crayons
- Fine-tip markers
- Color pencils
- Twistable color pencils
- Glitter crayons or markers are fantastic for holiday coloring fun!
- Encourage your kids to get creative and think outside the box. If you don't have the exact colors as the ones suggested in the legend at the top of the page, don't let that stop the holiday coloring fun! Pick a color as close to it as you can. (OR just make your own legend!)
- Print extra copies of each of these Christmas pixel art pages. Your kids may want to make multiple versions (or give to friends) so you'll be ready 😉
- Take it nice and slow. Your kids don't have to finish a page in one sitting. In fact, it might be more fun to extend the pixel coloring fun over a few days.
- Play holiday music or an audiobook in the background as your kids color. This tip is one of our favorite ways to enjoy coloring activities.
- Think about all the different situations you can enjoy these Christmas pixel art pages, like:
- Parties
- Holiday brain breaks
- Coloring challenges
- Boredom busters
- Christmas homeschool fun activities
