Start Your School Year with Poetry Fun!

I love to make back to homeschool special 🙂

My mom, a retired Kindergarten teacher, always found amazing ways to get my brother, sister, and myself excited for a new year of learning. One of my favorite parts of back to school time was getting new school supplies. (A reason why I created this Back to Homeschool Scavenger Hunt for my boys!)

As a homeschool mom, I strive to keep my mom's traditions of making back to school time fun. I just add my own tweaks for back to homeschool fun to best suit our family.

This year, a new way that we'll start our year off with a bang is an All About Me Activity. (We're also playing Back to Homeschool Bingo and enjoying these conversation starters.)

I'm also going to add other all about me worksheets with different themes!

All About Me Activity for All Ages

Our homeschool will span Kindergarten through high school this year. I'm working hard to find and create activities that I can use as a group with all of my boys and adapt according to age and stage.

In the past, we've started our homeschool year with an All About Me activity geared towards younger kids. We love looking back on what the boys enjoyed doing, eating, and playing.

I realized that it would be fabulous to have our older boys continue this tradition with an updated version of All About Me. So, we're adding this fun activity to our poetry teatime tradition.

  • Young ones (pre-writers) can draw or dictate their responses
  • Older students can plan, create a rough draft, and finish the activity with a pretty copy.
