Fantastic Reasons to Celebrate Fun Holidays for Kids
You may be wondering why you should take the time to celebrate fun holidays with your kids.
Life is busy, right? And, if you're like me, you often feel like you're about to drown in your to-do list and laundry piles.
Well, that's exactly why you need these special moments with your kids!
I'm not trying to put any more pressure on you than you already have. As a homeschool soccer mom to five boys, I totally understand that panic feeling you get when you even think about adding one more thing to your schedule.
But, believe me when I share with you that these fun holiday celebrations don't have to be stressful or feel like just one more thing.
In fact, the ideas and suggestions for this free printable Fun Holidays for Kids Calendar can help you:
- Connect with your kids
- Relax and slow down your day
- Easily add fun to your schedule of activities, lessons, chores, and errands
- Help your family learn something new!
Tips for Enjoying Fun Holidays for Kids
To help you reduce the anxiety over adding fun to your lives, I'm sharing these tips and tricks for making the most of your fun holidays for kids celebrations. Read them over and use what applies to your situation 🙂
1. Keep It Simple
Less is more.
Learn from my mistakes. I have a tendency to overcomplicate and think adding more will make it better.
It doesn't.
Save yourself the headache and stress.
A simple coloring page or watching a YouTube video may be all that you need to learn about a fun holiday.
2. Don't Feel Obligated to Do It All
These suggested fun holidays may not line up with your family plans. And that's A-O.K.!
Oh, and appointments and trips and unexpected floods in your basement (yup, that's happened twice here!) may interfere with your grand fun plans.
Take a deep breath. And then another one.
Life will go on and all will be well.
Scratch that fun day off the list and get ready for the next one!
3. Get Creative
Don't feel boxed in by these suggestions! Go beyond these tips and ideas.
Maybe you want to bake extra for Cake Decorating Day on October 10 an deliver goodies to shut-ins? Go for it!!
4. Plan & Prep
Take a bit of time for planning and preparing the weekend or night before your Fun Holidays for Kids. When you have all your materials ready, you'll feel less stressed and more ready to dive into the excitement.
5. Do Your Own Thing!
Research and find other fun holidays to celebrate with your family.
I get asked ALL the time about where I find these super cool fun days to enjoy with kids. I use National Day Calendar and Brownie Locks for all my fun holiday needs 🙂
6. Print It Out!
I totally give you permission to print out mulitple copies of this free Fun Holidays for Kids Calendar! In fact, I encourage you to do just that!
Make sure you have one copy for your planner/binder. Another copy to hand on your {homeschool} morning board. Another copy for a wall or refrigerator.
The more, the merrier! (Just make sure to share the link to this post with your friends-don't share the files!)
